There’s Bowling until the green closes!
As you can see from the group photo, our green is really struggling to maintain its condition in this very dry weather, but it has still been a joy to play on it.
We recently held our Scarborough Cup two wood singles (the group photo showing all the competitors) and Dave Perkins triumphed over lan Tumilty in the final. Well done to him and all those involved.
Results from the leagues are still pretty mixed but at this stage, with one more game to play, the Tuesday night team can already be confirmed as finishing in second place. This has been an excellent achievement under our skipper, Rob Hill, who will be leaving at the end of the season. We certainly wish him success in his future bowling career and the committee would like to thank him for the contribution he has made during his years with us.
We still have two further Saturday competitions plus the finals of Stan Smith and Kathy Birch, which have been running throughout the season, as well as league matches to complete before the end of August. Also, the fun league will be finishing then, and cumulative scores will be used to decide on the winner and runners up.
